Helping families prepare healthier, more sustainable meals

The EIT-FOOD supported programme with four countries (Spain, Bulgaria, Poland and Hungary) aims to:

  • Supporting a nutritious, balanced, plant-based diet focused on plant-based food
  • Supporting environmentally friendly food choices and reducing environmental impact
  • Supporting home cooking habits,offering a fun & educational activity for families

The 3-year Kitchen Adventure program aims to change eating habits by encouraging healthier and more sustainable choices. The project aims to support families and communities through cooking classes, lesson plans and playful and fun activities promoting plant-based diets and sustainable food choices. The project aims to make healthy eating an attractive and enjoyable part of everyday life by creating positive associations with home cooking. KitchenAdventure leverages a combination of online and face-to-face activities to reach schools and families. By involving parents and children, the programme aims to effectively promote healthy and sustainable nutrition.

OBJECTIVES

  • Develop and validate an approach that guides citizens towards healthier and more sustainable food choices.
  • Develop positive associations with home cooking, making it an attractive activity for families.
  • Changing the image of plant-based foods, highlighting their taste, safety and sustainability.
  • Raising awareness of the environmental impact of meat consumption.
  • Teacher training, lesson plans on plant-based diets and sustainable food systems.
