Journey, a 3-5 week summer university organized by Climate-KIC, is one of the biggest life experiences for young people who are climate conscious or interested in environmental issues. Students travel across 3 countries in teams of 40 during Journey, with coaches and local experts helping them come up with their own project idea and get started. At the end of Journey, a 4-day student conference begins, at which all – about 200 students – meet at the end of the trip. Amazing, fantastic, uplifting experience – that’s what the participants say after the program.

Because of Covid-19, in 2020 the whole event had to be re-planned and transferred to the virtual space – this is what we participated in, from the concept creation to the design, communication and facilitation of the 4-day online event. The feedbacks speak for themselves: even during the quarantine period, the participants managed to make cross-country friendships and even invent joint projects that they could present to each other at the final summit.
